Globalization In India : New Frotiers And Emerging Challenges

Swapan Kumar Pramanick (Ph.D.) is a very well known sociologist of the region who is presently the Vice Chancellor of Vidyasagar University in Midnapore, West Bengal, India. He specializes in Indian Sociological Thought and Theory, Marxist Sociology, and Indian Stratification System, and has published numerous papers and three books. In the field of higher education and sociology in the state of West Bengal (India) his contribution as administrator and organizer has been relentless and inspiring. He has been associated with Indian Sociological Society for many years, and is one of the founder member and former President of Sociological Association of West Bengal.
Ramanuj Ganguly (Ph.D.) is a sociologist specializing in Sociology of Religion and contemporary Indian social issues, presently working as Reader and Head of the Department of Sociology, West Bengal State University, Barasat, West Bengal (India). He has numerous articles and two books to his credit. His forthcoming books are on sociological theory, concepts, and on B.R. Ambedkar. He is the Managing Editor of Bharatiya Samajik Chintan, and one of the Assistant Editors of West Bengal Sociological Review. He also performs the duties as one of the Joint Secretary of Sociological Association of West Bengal (SAWB) and Treasurer of Sociology Alumni Association, Calcutta University.
